On November 23, 2023, the Jaguars defeated the Houston Texans to move to 8-3. Since that game, the Jaguars are 1-7.

Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence has lost seven consecutive starts dating back to last season. Something’s gotta give, right?

To quote Lawrence after Week 2’s loss to the Browns, the Jaguars “suck right now.” Since Travis Etienne Jr.’s devastating fumble in the third quarter of Week 1’s loss to the Dolphins, Jacksonville has scored 13 points.

Lawrence looks lost at quarterback. The former No. 1 pick has a 51.0 completion percentage and 56.6 QBR. Those shouldn’t be the numbers of a quarterback who recently signed a five-year, $275 million contract.

While Lawrence struggles, Josh Allen thrives. The Bills quarterback has looked like an MVP candidate through two games—31 of 42 for 371 yards, three touchdowns, zero interceptions, and two rushing touchdowns.

The offense has been humming, scoring 30-plus points in both games. Buffalo’s defense continues to overcome injuries, but Von Miller has been a bright spot and a source of production on the defensive line.

The Bills hold a significant rest advantage, having last played on Thursday, September 12. While the game will likely be low-scoring in the first half, Allen and the Bills offense are too talented to stop, especially at home.

Pick: Bills -4.5

Jaguars vs. Bills: Prop Bet

Under offensive coordinator Joe Brady, the Bills have emphasized reducing Allen’s workload, especially in the running games.

Enter James Cook, who exploded for 95 total yards and three touchdowns in Week 2’s win.

The Jaguars have allowed rushing touchdowns in three straight games dating back to last season.

Look for Buffalo to feed Cook early and often, which should result in the running back finding the end zone.

Prop Bet: James Cook Anytime Touchdown +130
