Ho-Chunk Casino in Beloit to Feature Four Restaurants, Bar, and 312 Hotel Rooms

The future Ho-Chunk Casino in Beloit, Wisconsin, will feature four restaurants with an outdoor patio, a 62-seat bar, and an 18-story hotel with 312 rooms. The $405 million project will be built at the southeast corner of Willowbrook and Colley roads between Willowbrook Road and Interstate 39-90.

Ho-Chunk Casino will house the 62-seat bar, four restaurants, a 76,413-square-foot conference center, and the 312-room hotel

According to John Clark of Eyewitness News, the 240,478-square-foot casino will house the 62-seat bar, the four restaurants, a 76,413-square-foot conference center, and the 312-room hotel. The hotel will feature a lobby bar, rooftop bar, and spa. The parking structure is slated to be built in separate phases after the initial casino opens.

In 2020, the casino project received approval from the Bureau of Indian Affairs. It was also approved by Wisconsin Gov. Tony Evers in 2021. The Ho-Chunk Nation’s development is expected to bring 1,500 jobs to the City of Beloit.

Other details still have to be sorted out before construction commences.

“Road access, ingress, egress, storm water plans, working with the fire department over their concerns with the height of the hotel. Now that we’re getting ready to break ground, those are the little details that have to be decided,” said Collin Price, Ho-Chunk Nation Consultant.

In June, the Rock County Board of Supervisors voted to amend and extend a three-party intergovernmental agreement between the Ho Chunk Nation, the City of Beloit, and Rock County.

However, the amended agreement adds a 2% tax on the casino’s net winnings. In fact, the tax revenues will be split, with Beloit receiving 1.2% and Rock County receiving 0.6%.

Beloit Casino is slated to open in 2026

Furthermore, Ho-Chunk Casino in Beloit is scheduled to open in 2026. The casino will feature 1,500-1,800 slot machines, 44 table games, and a sportsbook.

The Master Plan and Zoning Map Amendment passed through the Plan Commission on July 17. It is now headed toward the full City Council for a public hearing on Aug. 5.

Additionally, the Ho-Chunk casino in Beloit will be the seventh casino owned and operated by the Ho-Chunk Nation. The other six locations are in Baraboo, Black River Falls, Madison, Nekoosa, Tomah, and Wittenberg.

The Beloit Casino will be located about 19 miles north of Rockford’s Hard Rock Casino along Interstate 90. Construction on the Hard Rock Casino Rockford is expected to be completed before its late summer 2024 opening date.

Of course, it is unknown at this time which restaurants are coming to Ho-Chunk Casino. Notable restaurants at other locations include Jose’s Authentic Mexican Restaurant, Spirit Bar, and Ho-Chunk Grill.
