Travis Hunter & Miller Moss See Heisman Odds Jump

Colorado opened their 2024 season with a thrilling win over North Dakota State, thanks largely to Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter. Sanders threw for 445 yards and four touchdowns, three of which went to Hunter, who also racked up 132 receiving yards and played nearly every snap at cornerback. Following their standout performances, bettors flocked to DraftKings Sportsbook to place Heisman bets on both players.

Hunter’s odds jumped from 50/1 to 25/1, while Sanders’ odds improved from 35/1 to 20/1. Hunter is now the most bet-on player for the Heisman in the last 24 hours, accounting for 33% of the handle and 34% of the bets at DraftKings.

USC capped on a weekend of college football with a top-25 showdown against LSU. USC quarterback Miller Moss took full advantage of the bright lights and having the eyes of the college football nation on him and the Trojans.

Moss saw his Heisman Trophy odds improve significantly after leading the Trojans to a dramatic win over LSU in their season opener. Moss, who threw for 378 yards and a touchdown while orchestrating a game-winning 75-yard drive, now has +2200 odds to win the Heisman, up from +3500.

While Moss had a strong start, he’ll need to maintain this high level of performance throughout the season to contend with other top quarterbacks like Oregon’s Dillon Gabriel, Ole Miss’ Jaxson Dart, Miami’s Cam Ward, and Tennessee’s Nico Iamaleava.

Updated 2024 Heisman Trophy Odds

Oregonโ€™s quarterback Dillon Gabriel entered the season slightly favored over Georgia’s Carson Beck. After leading the third-ranked Ducks to a 24-10 win over Idaho, Gabriel is a slight favorite over Ole Miss’ Jaxson Dart and Beck. Beck had a solid performance in Georgia’s 34-3 victory over No. 14 Clemson, where he threw for 278 yards and two touchdowns.

After a stellar debut, Miamiโ€™s quarterback Cam Ward made a giant leap from +2000 to +950. Ward transferred from Washington State to Miami in the offseason and quickly made his presence felt. In his debut, he completed 26-of-35 passes (74.3%) for 385 yards, three touchdowns, and one interception, earning a QBR of 95.7.

The quality of the opponent might have contributed, as No. 6 Ole Miss faced Furman in a 76-0 blowout. However, Jaxson Dart still delivered an incredible performance, completing 22 of 27 passes (81.5%) for 418 yards and five touchdowns, along with six carries for 27 yards and another score. Impressively, Dart achieved all of this in the first half, as he sat out the final 30 minutes with the Rebels already leading by 52 points.

Tennessee’s freshman quarterback may be a surprising name on the list, but he made quite the splash in his debut. The Volunteers’ 19-year-old freshman quarterback performed excellently in No. 15 Tennessee’s 69-3 win over Chattanooga. He completed 22-of-28 passes for 314 yards and three touchdowns before halftime. His 314 first-half passing yards set a new school record, and he didnโ€™t play in the second half with the game already well in hand.
