Gambler Wins Over $2M At Northern California Casino Playing Wheel of Fortune Double Diamond Slot

A gambler won over $2 million after hitting the progressive jackpot while playing the $5 Wheel of Fortune Double Diamond slot machine at the Colusa Casino Resort in Northern California.

Gambler won $2,752,887.71 at Colusa Casino Resort

On June 8, Colusa Casino Resort said a “monumental win” happened on its gaming floor when a lucky player became an instant millionaire, marking one of the biggest wins in the casino’s history.

“As the reels spun, the iconic Wheel of Fortune symbols aligned, triggering the life-changing jackpot,” Colusa Casino said.

“The excitement on the casino floor was palpable as fellow guests and staff members gathered to witness the incredible win.”

The player, who chose to remain anonymous, won a total of $2,752,887.71.

This amount is before federal taxes. California residents are not required to pay state taxes on prize winnings from gambling, since winnings are treated as ordinary earnings.

However, players are still obligated to report them on their state tax return. Gamblers are required to report their winnings on their federal tax return as well, using forms such as Form W-2G or including it as additional income on Form 1040.

The federal tax rate for winnings over $5,000 is 24%.

Another bettor won $10,000 on a $0.50 bet at the casino playing Coin Collector Aussie 5

“Colusa Casino Resort is known for creating unforgettable experiences for our guests, and this jackpot win is a testament to that,” Colusa Casino General Manager Jerry West said.

“We are thrilled to celebrate this massive win with our lucky player and look forward to more exciting moments in the future.”

According to its website, the casino offers a “wide range of gaming options, including slot machines, table games, and video poker.” It also offers dining options, live entertainment, and “deluxe accommodations.”

Earlier this month, another gambler at Colusa Casino Resort won a five-figure jackpot.

On June 4, the casino resort confirmed that a bettor who played Coin Collector Aussie 5 successfully hit an impressive jackpot with less than a $1 bet. The lucky visitor reportedly scored a $10,000 jackpot on a $0.50 bet.
