In two of the final three years of his illustrious career, CC Sabathia and his New York Yankees were eliminated from the postseason by Carlos Correa and the Houston Astros, including the 2017 season in which the Astros were found to be stealing signs, which many believe helped them win the World Series.

Sabathia recently made it very clear that he’s still not over losing the 2017 ALCS and laid into Correa after the former American League Rookie of the Year made some comments to Houston haters following the Astros’ wild-card series win over the Minnesota Twins.

With the 2017 ALCS tied at three games apiece, CC Sabathia took the mound for the Yankees to start Game 7 and gave up one run on five hits in 3.1 innings of work before being pulled from the game for Tommy Kahnle. Unfortunately for Sabathia, he ended up being the losing pitcher as the Yankees offense was unable to score a single run in the 4-0 loss.

As for Carlos Correa, he scored one of those four runs that night at Minute Maid Park and went 2-for-4, although neither of those hits came against CC Sabathia.

So let’s fast forward three years. Carlos Correa and the Astros went 29-31 in the 60-game abbreviated 2020 MLB season but still found themselves in the playoffs for the fourth consecutive season thanks to the expanded postseason format.

The Astros were matched up against the Minnesota Twins in the best-of-three wild-card round and swept the AL Central champs at Target Field. Correa, who has no problem speaking his mind about the sign-stealing scandal, then proceeded to call out the Astros’ detractors following the team’s win in Game 2, a game in which he hit the go-ahead home run (h/t USA Today).

“I know a lot of people were mad, I know a lot of people didn’t want to see us here, but what are they going to say now? We won a series on the road, in Minnesota, so what are they going to say now?”

Those comments clearly didn’t sit well with CC Sabathia.

On a recent episode of R2C2, a podcast CC Sabathia co-hosts with media personality Ryan Ruocco, the former Cy Young Award winner went off on Carlos Correa, his comments, and the Houston Astros organization as a whole, proving he’s still holding a grudge over what happened in 2017.

“They cheated and then they’re mad at us. Like get the f— out of here. It’s a f—ing joke. And then you finish under .500 this year. Like, shut the f— up … The kid’s a clown, I’m sorry.”

Sabathia did go on to say that he was happy for his good friend, Dusty Baker, who became the manager in Houston when A.J. Hinch was fired following the scandal, but had one more thing to say to the Astros’ organization as a whole.

“F— them dudes, man.”

Come on, CC, tell us how you really feel.

There is a chance that the Astros and Yankees could meet up in the ALCS for the third time in four years. Houston will play the Oakland A’s in the divisional round while the Yankees attempt to get past the Rays. Wonder who CC Sabathia would root for in that series.
