Floyd Mayweather Reveals How Much Money He Will Make for Fighting Logan Paul

Floyd Mayweather returns to the ring for another exhibition fight for the first time in nearly three years. Mayweather will take on Youtube star Logan Paul. Before the legendary boxer re-enters the squared circle, he disclosed the expected payday ahead.

After months of speculation, Mayweather agreed to an exhibition match against Paul at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami scheduled for Sunday night.

The 44-year-old last fought in December 2018, where he knocked out undefeated kickboxer Tenshin Nasukawa in the first round. Meanwhile, Paul has one fight to his resume being a split decision loss to fellow YouTuber KSI back in November 2019.

As Mayweather prepares for the bout, he revealed how much he will earn.

Before Mayweather gets back into the ring, his team properly secured the financial situation.

Throughout much of his boxing career, the 44-year-old has proven to be a keen businessman, putting himself in highly lucrative positions each time he enters the squared circle. It’s once again the case, as he revealed to Chris Mannix of Sports Illustrated that he will make between $50 million to $100 million from the fight against Paul.

“My nickname is ‘Money’ for a reason,” Mayweather said. “I worked extremely hard for years and years to get to a certain level. A level where we can start calling everything an event.”

Mayweather added that he already made $30 million in the build-up to the match. It shouldn’t come as much of a surprise after reports stated that he is guaranteed $10 million plus 50% in pay-per-view revenue. Meanwhile, Paul will make $250,000 while earning 10% in pay-per-view revenue.

The undefeated boxer always has his ducks lined up concerning lucrative financial gains. In other words, if the money is there, Mayweather will entertain the chance to fight. Not only does he hold complete confidence in his odds against Paul, but it’s a scenario where he will receive a massive payday.

Mayweather has built up a brand that has helped him accumulate a reported net worth of $450 million. According to The Athletic, he’s earned more than $1.2 billion in his boxing career. He collected around $275 million from his one-off match against UFC star Conor McGregor and north of $100 million for his megafight against Manny Pacquiao.

Regardless of how Sunday’s fight unfolds, Mayweather is about to make his pockets that much deeper.

A match against Jake Paul lies ahead?

Mayweather has become the epitome of a businessman at this point in his boxing career, with him only entertaining options that will give him a lucrative payday.

However, his interest in fighting Jake Paul may go deeper than a quick massive payday. The build-up to that fight would easily topple the expected earnings from Sunday’s bout.

Jake is viewed as the better boxer between the brothers and has a much stronger boxing resume with defeating all three of his opponents YouTuber Ali Eson Gib, former NBA player Nate Robinson, and retired MMA fighter Ben Askren.

Paul recently inked a multi-fight deal with Showtime, which is the network that Mayweather has worked with since 2013. The groundwork is all there for that exhibition fight to occur down the road.

The 44-year-old only has Sunday’s match lined up while Jake announced that he will fight former UFC champion Tyron Woodley in the summer. Suppose the younger Paul brother can remain undefeated. In that case, he may have that opportunity ahead to earn the biggest payday of his brief boxing career with a fight against a legendary boxer.
