Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott was injured in Sunday’s 27-21 loss to the Atlanta Falcons. How much time will the Cowboys quarterback miss?

Dak Prescott Injured

Prescott suffered a hamstring injury in the second half of Sunday’s game. Prescott completed 18 of 24 passes for 133 yards and one touchdown.

After an MRI, Prescott’s injury is worse than initially feared. According to NFL Network Insiders Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero, Prescott will miss multiple games.

Pelissero added that the team is debating whether to put Prescott on injured reserve. If Prescott heads to the IR, he will miss a minimum of four games, putting him out until Dec. 9 against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy said Prescott will seek a second opinion before finalizing treatment.

“Once the doctors and really once he figures out where he’s at,” McCarthy told reporters on Monday (via NFL.com). “Those are conversations that’ll probably happen here over the course of this week.”

Cowboys Season On Life Support

Cooper Rush will start at quarterback in Week 10 against the Philadelphia Eagles. Trey Lance will likely serve as Rush’s backup.

With Sunday’s loss, the Cowboys have now dropped three straight and sit at 3-5.

Things do not get any easier for Dallas, who play Philadelphia (6-2), Houston (6-3), and Washington (7-2) in the next three weeks.
