The Kansas City Chiefs escaped Arrowhead with a victory for the second consecutive week. The Bengals outplayed the Chiefs for three quarters. However, a costly Joe Burrow fumble and pass interference call turned the tide for the Chiefs, who won on a last-second Harrison Butker field goal.

Patrick Mahomes is unquestionably the best quarterback in football. However, his numbers through two games mirror those of a mediocre quarterback. Mahomes ranks 14th in passing yards (442) and has thrown for three touchdowns and three interceptions.

The Chiefs offense suffered a major blow with the foot injury to running back Isiah Pacheco, who will miss anywhere from four to 12 weeks. The trio of Samaje Perine, Carson Steele, and Kareem Hunt will occupy the Chiefs’ backfield for now.

Speaking of last-second wins, the Atlanta Falcons stunned the Philadelphia Eagles 22-21 on Monday Night Football. With 1:39 left, Cousins went 5 of 6 for 70 yards, throwing the game-winning touchdown to Drake London.

Atlanta’s defense has been better than expected, allowing the 10th fewest points per game (19.5).

Mahomes is 24-8-1 ATS as a favorite of less than 3 points or as an underdog (per Action Network). However, Mahomes is 38-43-2 ATS (47%) career as a favorite of more than 3 points. If the line is more than a field goal, take the Falcons to cover, though the Chiefs will likely win outright.

Pick: Falcons +3.5

Chiefs vs. Falcons: Prop Bet

Once again, the Chiefs are missing Pacheco for the foreseeable future.

The backfield committee still has a lot to prove.

While the Chiefs will likely pass more in Pacheco’s, that opens the door for Mahomes’ trademark scrambles. After only rushing for three yards in Week 1, Mahomes scampered his way to 29 yards rushing in Week 2.

The Falcons’ defense allowed 57 rushing yards to Justin Fields in Week 1 and 85 rushing yards to Jalen Hurts in Week 2.

BetMGM has Mahomes’ rushing prop set at 18.5. The over is the play.

Prop Bet: Patrick Mahomes Over 18.5 Rushing Yards
