The Boston Celtics came two wins away from their first NBA championship since 2008, and they’re wasting no time this offseason improving the roster so that they don’t fall short in 2023. Earlier this week, the C’s snatched the playmaker they needed by trading for Malcolm Brogdon, and they also added veteran forward Danilo Gallinari in free agency.

Boston has the ability to make a run back to the NBA Finals next season, and if you ask the oddsmakers, the Celtics are the favorites to win it all in 2023.

The Celtics were one piece away from winning an NBA championship last season, and they may have found that piece in Brogdon.

On Friday, Boston traded Daniel Theis, Aaron Nesmith, Nik Stauskas, Malik Fitts, Juwan Morgan, and a 2023 first-round pick to the Indiana Pacers for the former Rookie of the Year. Brogdon will immediately step in as the team’s main point guard, which is something the Celtics were lacking last year.

The move was so impactful that oddsmakers decided to make a big change to the futures board.

The Celtics are now the betting favorites to win it all in 2023

In the immediate aftermath of the Brogdon trade, FanDuel adjusted its future odds by bumping the Celtics to the top spot. Boston is now the favorite to win the title in 2023 at +500 odds.

The Milwaukee Bucks and Phoenix Suns are right behind at +600, and the Golden State Warriors are +650 to repeat. Check out the full championship odds below:
