Bristol Casino Sets New Slot Machine Revenue Record in August

The Bristol Casino, future home of Hard Rock, had its second-best revenue month ever in August and set a new record for income from slot machines. According to the Virginia Lottery’s casino report for last month, the Bristol Casino netted $15,940,186.74 in adjusted gross revenue (AGR).

Bristol Casino generated a record $13,286,447 in slot revenue

March 2024 was the only month when the casino posted a higher AGR since its opening. The AGR that month was roughly $16.3 million. However, August set a new record for revenues generated at slot machines in the casino. Slots made up the majority share of the AGR by generating $13,286,447.

Through the first four months of the year, Bristol Casino’s revenues exceeded $55.7 million, or about 1% ahead of the first four months of 2023, lottery records show. At this point of the fiscal year, Virginia’s first casino has generated about $136 million in gaming revenue.

Table games contributed $2,653,740 to August’s AGR. The ridiculous month translates to nearly $1 million being added to the casino’s Regional Improvement Commission (RIC).

Virginia’s three casinos combined to generate over $60.1 million in AGR

A $956,411 payout to the RIC was the result of August’s casino performance. The RIC evenly disperses funds to the 12 counties and two independent cities of Southwest Virginia. Funds allocated will go toward the improvement and maintenance of transportation, education, and safety in the area.

Over the 26 months the casino’s been open, funds generated for the RIC total more than $21.1 million. In this fiscal year, the casino has generated over $8.12 million, or an average of $580,629 for each of the 14 localities.

According to the Virginia Lottery’s casino report, the Old Dominion’s three operating casinos combined to generate over $60.1 million in adjusted gaming revenue and $10. 8 million in gaming tax revenue.

Rivers Casino Portsmouth reported $26.44 million in total revenue, including $18.4 million from slots and $8.01 million from table games. Over $1.5 million in gaming tax will be given to the host city.

Caesars Virginia reported $19.7 million in total revenue, including $14.4 million from slots and $5.2 million from table games. More than $1.1 million will come back to the city of Danville.
