There has been a buzz about WR Brandon Aiyuk and his future with the San Francisco 49ers all offseason.

In a TikTok video posted by Aiyuk, he talked to Washington Commanders QB Jayden Daniels and said regarding the 49ers “They said they don’t want me back… I swear”.

It felt like things were cooling off between Aiyuk and the 49ers lately.

However, Aiyuk has formally requested a trade.

Below, we will take a look at which teams would try and acquire the star wideout and whether the 49ers will agree to trade Aiyuk.

Which Teams Will Try And Pursue Aiyuk?

Brandon Aiyuk is one of the best route runners in the league.

Playing for the 49ers, Aiyuk has established himself as a top-flight wideout in the league.

Here are four teams that should target Brandon Aiyuk before the season begins.

Washington Commanders

Brandon Aiyuk posted the video while speaking to Washington Commanders QB Jayden Daniels.

Daniels and Aiyuk are very good friends and Aiyuk would jump at the idea of playing with Daniels.

The Commanders have some weapons at WR in Terry McLaurin and Jahan Dotson.

They also added RB Austin Ekeler, who is an excellent pass-catching RB.

Adding Aiyuk to this offense will make Daniels’ job as a rookie much easier.

Aiyuk would become the team’s number-one WR and is an excellent route runner.

Adding Brandon Aiyuk to the Commanders would boost their offense significantly and Daniels would have tremendous weapons at his disposal.

Los Angeles Chargers

The Los Angeles Chargers desperately need a WR to help star QB Justin Herbert.

LA lost WRs Mike Williams and Keenan Allen in the offseason.

Their WR room is very thin.

The starting WRs are Joshua Palmer, Quentin Johnston, and Ladd McConkey.

If any team could use a star WR to have for a star QB, it is the Chargers.

Aiyuk would greatly help the offense and the Chargers to compete in a tough AFC West.

Pittsburgh Steelers

Outside of George Pickens, the Steelers’ WR group is lackluster.

Aiyuk would be a tremendous boost to a very thin WR group in Pittsburgh.

The Steelers have not won a playoff game since 2016 and they have been feeling the heat from fans.

Adding Aiyuk would boost their chances of winning a playoff game.

In a revamped offense that has seen a ton of changes this offseason, adding a top-flight WR to pair with Pickens would greatly benefit the Steelers.

New England Patriots

No team has arguably a weaker WR group than the New England Patriots.

The Pats do not have any proven WR and on paper, this looks like the worst WR group in the NFL.

Drake Maye will eventually be the starter if he isn’t in week 1.

The Pats need to get him some help if he has any chance of being a successful QB.

Adding Aiyuk would finally give the Patriots a true number-one WR, something they have been lacking for a few years.

New England desperately needs to try and acquire star WR Brandon Aiyuk.

Will The San Francisco 49ers Agree To Trade Aiyuk?

While Aiyuk has requested a trade, this does not mean the 49ers will grant his request.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter stated on X: “Sources: Other teams that have reached out and spoken to San Francisco have been told the 49ers have no intention of trading disgruntled WR Brandon Aiyuk, who officially has requested a trade.”

Aiyuk has no leverage and the 49ers decide what will happen with Aiyuk this season.

If they are intent on not trading the star wideout, the only thing he can do is hold out if he chooses.

As of now, San Francisco seems like they want to keep Aiyuk for this season at least.
