Bettor Will Win $98.8K From $50 Bet If Mavericks Win Western Conference Finals

An NBA bettor at Caesars Sportsbook will win $98,800 from a $50 three-leg parlay bet, which was placed on Dec. 29, 2023, if the Dallas Mavericks win the Western Conference finals against the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Bettor had Chiefs, Michigan winning championships along with Dallas Mavericks advancing to NBA Finals

The first leg had the Kansas City Chiefs (+1800) defeating the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl LVIII. Kansas City, led by star quarterback Patrick Mahomes, won 25-22 in overtime in Las Vegas and became the first NFL team since the 2004 New England Patriots to win back-to-back championships.

Next, the second leg on the ticket required the Michigan Wolverines to win the 2024 national championship. At the time, Michigan’s odds were +550. The Wolverines went on to defeat the Washington Huskies 34-13 in the title game.

Michigan claimed its first CFP title, 12th national championship in program history, and its first since 1997. It was the Wolverines’ first consensus national championship since 1948 as well.

For the third leg of the parlay bet, the bettor now needs the Mavericks to advance to the NBA Finals. In December, the gambler had +197500 odds of winning his three-leg parlay bet. Dallas also had +1500 odds of winning the Western Conference finals just two months into the season.

Now that the Mavericks have a three-game lead on the Timberwolves in their WCF series, the gambler might not have to cash out early on his or her bet. Of course, this is assuming that Caesars Sportsbook would have allowed it in the first place. For certain bets, sportsbooks allow bettors to cash out early to cut their losses.

No NBA team has ever come back from a 3-0 deficit in a best-of-seven series. It’s not impossible, but the odds are in the gambler’s favor at this point.

Last season, the Boston Celtics rallied from a three-game series deficit against the Miami Heat in the 2023 Eastern Conference finals to force a Game 7. But the C’s fell short at TD Garden and became just another loser.

Dallas hosts the Timberwolves in Game 4 on Tuesday night. The Mavericks could very well complete the series sweep. Luka Doncic, Kyrie Irving, and the Mavs are now only one win away from the bettor turning his $50 three-leg parlay bet into $98,800.
