Campbell informed reporters that Hutchinson will need about four to six months to recover from the leg injury. Despite the long recovery timeline, Campbell is not willing to rule Hutchinson out for the season yet.

“I would never count Hutch out. Ever,” Campbell said via Nolan Bianchi. “So, probably a long road, but I would never count him out, and I would say if anybody can make it back, it’d be him.”

In the third quarter of Detroit’s 47-9 victory over Dallas, Hutchinson’s leg snapped when it collided with his teammate Alim McNeill’s shin.

Hutchinson suffered a fractured tibia and fibula that required immediate surgery in Dallas.

In five games, Hutchinson was putting together a strong case for Defensive Player of the Year thanks to his NFL-leading 7.0 sacks. Hutchinson also led the league in pressures and pass rush win rate heading into Week 6.
