  • Harris is received well and is seen as the more poised and prepared candidate by younger and minority voters

US Election 2024 Debate: Key Features

David Muir and Linsey Davis, anchors on ABC World News Tonight, will have the roles of moderators for the 90 minute debate.

Fortunately, or unfortunately depending on your preference, the duo will not have to manage any interruptions from either Harris or Trump as the microphones will be muted when the other is talking.

This was also the case for Trump and Biden’s debate earlier this year, after a chaotic debate in 2020.

However, Harris was attempting to get the microphones on at all times during the debate as she feels muting them will “shield Donald Trump from direct exchanges with the vice-president”.

The last word of the debate will be given to Trump and Harris opted to be on the right-hand side of the screen for the audience watching on TV.

There will be no audience in attendance and no topics/questions will be given to either participant before the debate – with no notes being allowed either.

Harris and Trump will only be allowed to bring a water bottle, pen and notepad onto the stage and will not be allowed to exit their post during commercial breaks.

AI Debate Prediction

“In a highly anticipated debate, Donald Trump and Kamala Harris face off live on ABC from the National Constitution Center in Philadelphia. Both candidates come out strong, with Trump focusing on his track record on the economy and border security, while Harris champions social justice, healthcare reform, and strengthening democracy.

“A key moment comes when Harris challenges Trump on his handling of the COVID-19 pandemic and his divisive rhetoric, emphasizing the need for unity and empathy in leadership. Trump counters by highlighting his administration’s economic gains and accusing Harris of pushing a “radical” agenda that would harm American values.

“Harris scores points when discussing the importance of protecting voting rights and access to healthcare, positioning herself as the champion of the underrepresented. Trump, on the other hand, manages to rally his base by defending his hardline stances on immigration and law enforcement, framing Harris’s policies as too lenient.

“The debate becomes heated over issues like climate change and international relations, with Trump touting his “America First” policy and Harris calling for global cooperation.

“In the end, Harris is seen as the more poised and prepared candidate, edging out a win in the debate, especially with younger and minority voters.”
