2022 NFL Draft: Grades for Channing Tindall and Every Other Miami Dolphins Pick

You can’t really be blamed if you’d forgotten that the Miami Dolphins were allowed to participate in the 2022 NFL Draft. No team entered the proceedings with less draft capital than the AFC East franchise making the most of the Nos. 102, 125, 224, and 247 selections.
Of course, the dearth of draft-day darts is — at least partially — due to the decision to give quarterback Tua Tagovailoa a deadly deep threat by the name of Tyreek Hill.
Miami shockingly didn’t add talent along the offensive line, though it did bring aboard Terron Armstead and Connor Williams as part of an offseason spending spree. Fortunately for the organization, bolstering the linebacker room should play well. But in reality, the lack of marquee picks should have had this organization thinking about the best-player-available route and targeting the prospects who fell through the cracks.

It’s hard to fault the Dolphins for leaning defense here with Channing Tindall still on the board well beyond his typical projection, which often fell late in the second round or early in the third. He’s a good run defender who can keep an eye on the quarterback from the middle of the field or chase ball-carriers out to the sidelines, but he sometimes struggles in the passing game and might have benefited from the ridiculous number of future professionals surrounding him in the Bulldogs lineup.
Grade: B+
Day 3 Picks
No. 125 Overall: Erik Ezukanma, WR, Texas Tech
Ezukanma is a big 6-foot-2 WR with a lot of great physical traits and solid hands that could see him develop into a legit starting wideout in a year or two.
Grade: B+
No. 224 Overall: Cameron Goode, LB, California
An NFL tweener at 6-foot-3, 240-pounds, Goode produced 20.5 sacks in college and could turn that instinct into an NFL career as a pass-rush specialist.
Grade: C+
No. 247 Overall: Skylar Thompson, QB, Kansas State
Thomas had a successful career at Kansas State and had good (not great) NFL size, arm talent, and athleticism. He could become a high-end backup/spot starter.
