Russell Wilson changes everything for the Denver Broncos, who now have the pieces in place to make some serious noise in the brutally difficult AFC West.

The Mile High City knows it, too. Weeks before the release of the 2022 NFL schedule, Wilson and his wife, Ciara, attended Game 4 of the first-round NBA playoff series between the Denver Nuggets and Golden State Warriors, and the arena erupted whenever he was shown on the jumbotron. Denver remains a football town, and Wilson seems ready to make good on the promise that accompanied him on his trip south from the Pacific Northwest.

Why wouldn’t he be?

Denver is coming off a seven-win season that featured the league’s third-ranked scoring defense, and the offense boasts building block after building block. Wilson made the most of a more limited offensive core in Seattle, and now he gets to hand the ball off to Javonte Williams and pass to Courtland Sutton, Jerry Jeudy, and Tim Patrick with a solid offensive line in front of him.

Double-digit wins have become the realistic goal for the Broncos.
