Last year, the Buffalo Bills schedule came down to 13 seconds. That’s all that stood between the 2021 squad and the franchise’s first repeat trip to the AFC Championship Game since 1992-93.

Then the defense played soft, Tyreek Hill ran past everyone, Josh Allen never touched the ball again, and the Bills started their 2022 offseason at least a week (if not three) before they planned to.

Despite the heartbreaking loss, the Bills are ready to run it back for the 2022 NFL season with one of the strongest rosters in the league. The team only lost a few mid-level free agents such as wide receiver Cole Beasley, cornerback Levi Wallace, offensive guard Jon Feliciano, and defensive ends Mario Addison and Jerry Hughes.

The biggest losses in Buffalo this offseason actually came off the field, with offensive coordinator Brian Daboll joining assistant general manager Joe Schoen on the New York Giants.

Former national championship-winning Miami quarterback Ken Dorsey will take over the offense this year. And he’ll have nearly all the weapons Daboll had, plus late-round draft steals like Georgia running back James Cook and Boise State wideout Khalil Shakir.

The Bills defense might be even stronger after the team’s offseason moves. The franchise signed pass-rusher Von Miller, fresh off his Super Bowl win with the Los Angles Rams, and added first-round cornerback Kaiir Elam from Florida.

All the offseason roster moves should thrill Bills fans, but 2022 will come down to one thing: The Bills have Josh Allen, and 31 other teams don’t. You can forget the Bills’ offseason moves, what other teams did, and the schedule below. If Allen takes yet another step toward greatness next season, Buffalo could finally bring home that elusive Lombardi trophy.
