BetMGM Bettors Could Win $584K From $1K Parlay If Oilers Win Stanley Cup

BetMGM bettors and sports bar owners Jeremy Malone and Judson Dymond need the Edmonton Oilers to win the Stanley Cup against the Florida Panthers to cash a $1,000 parlay for a payout of $584,000.

BetMGM bettors placed the $1,000 parlay weeks before an arsonist burned down their sports bar

The gamblers placed the three-leg futures parlay in January in Colorado using a promotional credit offered to new customers. The wager was placed after their establishment, The Sportsbook Bar & Grill, was forced to close in Greenwood Village after an arsonist burned it Jan. 26.

Furthermore, the three legs are the Kansas City Chiefs to win Super Bowl LVIII at +650, Real Madrid to win the UEFA Champions League at +550, and the Oilers to win the Stanley Cup at 11-1 odds.

In February, the Chiefs defeated the San Francisco 49ers 25-22 in overtime in the first Super Bowl in Las Vegas. Real Madrid also beat Borussia Dortmund 2-0 on Saturday in the Champions League final.

“We made the [larger] bet in the beginning,” Malone told Fox Sports earlier this month. “We’re gamblers when it comes down to it. We still want the Oilers.”

Oilers are +110 underdogs to win the Stanley Cup Final

According to BetMGM, the Oilers are +110 underdogs to win the Stanley Cup Final, while the Panthers are -130 series favorites to win the NHL championship.

Although Edmonton was trailing 3-0 in the best-of-seven series, the Oilers are still alive following two back-to-back wins in Games 4 and 5.

During Game 5 on Tuesday night, the Panthers allowed two power-play goals and a short-handed score, leading to a 3-0 deficit before trying to rally and wound up falling 5-3 to the Oilers.

Edmonton’s Connor McDavid had two goals and two assists to become the first player in NHL history to have back-to-back four-point games in the Stanley Cup Final.

The four points gave McDavid 42 in these playoffs, the fourth most in a single postseason in NHL history. The three performances ranked ahead of him belong to Wayne Gretzky (47 points in 1985), Mario Lemieux (44 in 1991), and Gretzky again (43 in 1988).

Additionally, it was the second consecutive time Florida was denied a chance to win the Cup, after an 8-1 embarrassment in Edmonton over the weekend.

Game 6 is back in Edmonton on Friday night.
