Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Puka Nacua reinjured his knee this week. Will Nacua play in Week 9 against the Seattle Seahawks?

Sean McVay Addresses Puka Nacua’s Injury

During Thursday’s practice, Nacua banged his knee and reinjured it. Nacua did not practice Friday.

The talented receiver is listed as questionable on the Rams’ Week 9 injury report.

Will Nacua play on Sunday? Rams head coach Sean McVay believes the second-year receiver will suit up in the critical NFC West showdown.

“I wouldn’t bet against this guy,” McVay said when asked about Nacua’s status. “My expectation is him doing everything in his power to be ready to roll, and that’s the mindset that we have.”

It’s the same knee Nacua injured during training camp. Nacua reinjured his knee in Week 1 against the Detroit Lions, which required an IR stint.

The good news is Thursday’s injury did not require fluid removal from the knee.

“I think the good thing is, what the hope and expectation is, is that sometimes when you do that, coming off an injury, it kind of scares you as much as anything, right, where maybe you broke up scar tissue,” McVay said. “When you look at the picture, it was really encouraging structurally.”

Rams Head To Seattle For Key Matchup Against Seahawks

The Rams (3-4) hit the road this week and travel north to play the Seattle Seahawks (3-4).

Last week, the Rams picked up a critical victory over the Minnesota Vikings to get them back on track.

It was the first time since Week 1 that Nacua and Cooper Kupp were both in the lineup. The receiving tandem combined for 12 catches, 157 yards, and one touchdown.

Nacua has only played in Week 1 and Week 8. The second-year pro has 11 catches for 141 yards.
