Herb Jones And CJ McCollum Will Be Out Multiple Weeks For The Pelicans
The New Orleans Pelicans announced Friday afternoon that they will be without both Herb Jones and CJ McCollum for at leas the next two weeks. Jones is out 2-4 weeks with a right shoulder strain, while McCollum will be sidelined 2-3 weeks because of a right adductor strain.
Herb Jones sustained a right shoulder strain and small low-grade partial thickness tear in his rotator cuff. His recovery timeframe is approximately 2-4 weeks and his return to play will be based on how he responds to treatment and rehabilitation.

McCollum missed Wednesday’s game against the Golden State Warriors. Jones exited Tuesday’s game against the Warriors due to injury and has not played since. These are two more significant blows to a Pelicans team already down point guard Dejounte Murray, who suffered a left hand fracture in New Orleans’ season opener against the Chicago Bulls and is expected to miss 4-6 weeks. The Pelicans announced on Oct. 25 he underwent successful surgery.
Only five games into the season, New Orleans is now down three starters and has lost three consecutive games. It’ll look to move back to .500 when it faces the Indiana Pacers Friday night at 8 p.m. EST.
