Will Colts QB Anthony Richardson Start In Week 9?
Indianapolis Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson has struggled mightily this year. Is head coach Shane Steichen considering a QB change in Week 9?
Shane Steichen Address Colts Starting QB
#Colts HC Shane Steichen:
Was the self-tap out factor into reevaluating the starting QB? “Um, no, it didn’t.”
Is Anthony Richardson your starting QB right now or not? “Right now, today, he is, yes.”
You don’t if he’s the starting QB for the upcoming game?

After another poor performance, Richardson’s job might be in jeopardy.
On Monday, Steichen told reporters that the team is “evaluating everything” when asked if Richardson will start for the Colts in Week 9.
Richardson is coming off a Week 8 23-20 loss to the Houston Texans when he completed 10 of 32 passes for 175 yards, one touchdown, and one interception. Richardson went into the half completing 2 of 15 passes with a 44.0 passer rating.
Richardson also made headlines when he took himself out of the third quarter for one play, claiming he was “tired.”
Richardson’s 44.4% completion percentage is the worst in the NFL among qualified starters. Richardson’s seven interceptions are also tied for third.

Who Would Start In Anthony Richardson’s Place?
I’ve never seen a QB tap out before. This was a winnable game. Anthony Richardson quit on his team. And he can’t hit the broad side of a band with a completion percentage in the 2000 Akili Smith range. Obviously Joe Flacco gives Indy better chance to win. If Richardson is benched, Joe Flacco will start for the Colts.
Flacco has made four appearances this year with a 1-1 record in two starts this season. However, the offense with Flacco compared to Richardson is night and day.
Flacco has thrown for 716 yards, seven touchdowns, and one interception with a 65.7% completion percentage. On the other hand, Richardson has thrown for 958 yards, four touchdowns, and seven interceptions in six starts.
The Colts (4-4) travel to Minnesota to play the Vikings (5-2) on Sunday Night Football in Week 9.
