Chris Godwin and Mike Evans both suffered injuries on Monday Night Football.

Godwin suffered a gruesome ankle injury that will likely sideline him for the remainder of the season.

Evans was already banged up with a hamstring injury entering the contest and he re-aggravated the injury, likely sidelining him for a few weeks. He will get an MRI to see the extent of the injury.

The Bucs are 4-3 and tied with the Atlanta Falcons for first in the NFC South. In a massive week 8 contest, these two teams face each other. Tampa Bay will be without Godwin and, most likely, Evans as well.

When healthy, Chris Godwin and Mike Evans form one of the best WR duos in the league.

Godwin has 50 receptions, 576 receiving yards, and five receiving TDs.

Godwin is first in the league in receptions, second in receiving yards, and tied for third in receiving TDs.

Evans has 26 receptions, 335 receiving yards, and six receiving TDs.

Evans is tied for first in the league in receiving TDs.

Baker Mayfield has been balling this season with those two weapons. Mayfield ranks second in the league in passing yards and first in passing TDs.

With injuries to Godwin and Evans, his numbers are going to dip,

Losing Godwin and Evans is a significant blow to the Bucs’ season.

Depending on the severity of Evans’ injury, the Bucs are now in serious jeopardy of missing the playoffs and not competing in the NFC South.

Godwin is unlikely to return this season, but the Bucs hope Evans is not out for long.

If Evans can avoid a major injury and return in a couple of weeks, Tampa Bay can still compete with the Falcons to win the NFC South.

However, if Evans’ injury is significant and he will miss a lot of time, the Bucs will not be able to recover from missing their top two WRs.
