After a three-week hiatus, the 2024-25 UEFA Champions League is set to return in all its glory this Tuesday and Wednesday (October 22–23). After two Matchdays, Europe’s top 36 teams have gained a better understanding of their strengths and shortcomings and will look to use these insights going forward.

The Primeira Liga outfit kicked off their European journey with a narrow 2-1 victory over Red Star Belgrade. On Matchday 2, however, they took Atletico Madrid to the cleaners, securing an emphatic 4-0 victory at home. Benfica will meet Dutch side Feyenoord in Gameweek 3.

#4 Juventus: 6 Goals
Serie A powerhouse Juventus have been quite trigger-happy this season, scoring six goals in just two UEFA Champions League games. The Bianconeri claimed a rather straightforward 3-1 win over PSV Eindhoven on Matchday 1. The next game away at RB Leipzig brought a much stiffer challenge, with the Old Lady having to dig deep to come away with a 3-2 victory over the Bundesliga side. Juve will take on VfB Stuttgart in their upcoming game.
Renowned marksman Dusan Vlahovic has been Juventus’ leading scorer in the competition this season. He has scored twice in the two games so far.
#3 Brest: 6 Goals
One of the most impressive teams in the UEFA Champions League thus far, French outfit Brest has scored six goals in two outings. They claimed a hard-fought 2-1 win over Sturm Graz on Matchday 1 but made light work of RB Salzburg in the next game, claiming a 4-0 victory away from home. Brest will look to extend their winning streak when they meet Bayer Leverkusen on Matchday 3.
Abdallah Sima has been Brest’s most prolific player in the UEFA Champions League. The Senegalese forward has scored three goals in two games from six shots on target.
#2 Bayern Munich: 9 Goals
Six-time UEFA Champions League winners Bayern Munich have clinched the second spot, hitting the back of the net nine times in two outings. The Bavarians scored all of their nine goals on Matchday 1, claiming a record 9-2 victory over GNK Dinamo. Premier League outfit, Aston Villa, then gave them a reality check on Matchday 2, beating the heavyweights 1-0 at Villa Park. Bayern Munich will look to return to winning ways when they face familiar foes Barcelona at Allianz Arena on Matchday 3.
Striker extraordinaire Harry Kane has unsurprisingly been Bayern’s primary source of goals this season. The former Tottenham Hotspur man has scored a tournament-best four times so far.
#1 Borussia Dortmund: 10 Goals
Bundesliga outfit Borussia Dortmund has been in devastating form in the UEFA Champions League this season, scoring 10 times in just two matches. They claimed a comfortable 3-0 win away at Club Brugge on Matchday 1 before bagging a thumping 7-1 victory over Celtic at the Signal Iduna Park in Gameweek 2. Nuri Sahin’s side will meet reigning European champions Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium on Matchday 3.
Karim Adeyemi and Serhou Guirassy have expertly shared the goalscoring responsibilities for Borussia Dortmund so far, with the forwards pitching in with three goals each.
