NASCAR Truck Series driver Corey Heim started the season strong, compiling three top-three finishes during the opening trio of events.

By the time he captured the Circuit of The Americas and earned a postseason bid in Week 5, Heim was in the midst of eight consecutive top-10s to open the campaign.

Only twice did Heim place higher than P17. Both times, he rebounded with wins at North Wilkesboro Speedway and World Wide Technology Raceway. The consistency aided Heim (+175) to maintain the circuit’s top championship odds, according to BetOnline Sportsbook.

With the Truck Series on a 22-day hiatus, Christian Eckes (+190) and Ty Majeski (+275) round out the three most favored pilots. The circuit returns Oct. 26 for the middle Round of 8 event at Homestead-Miami Speedway.

Will Heim finish the season as strong as he started?

Rajah Caruth Remaining Confident

Rajah Caruth, a NASCAR National Series prospect entrenched in his first deep postseason run, admitted to enduring mixed results this season.

The second-year Truck driver remains confident in his chances for qualifying for the Championship 4 race at Phoenix Raceway on Nov. 8. Caruth enters the Homestead-Miami Speedway event five points below the elimination line, but appears to be gaining momentum. He has compiled three top-10 finishes in his past four outings. In his last race at Talladega Superspeedway on Oct. 4, Caruth earned a P4, despite a pit-road mistake.

The late surge helped Caruth rebound from a mid-season slump.  Caruth failed to post a top-10 during a six-race skid lasting from Texas Motor Speedway to World Wide Technology Raceway. His lone win this season developed at Las Vegas on March 1, when he started from the pole. His betting odds to claim the circuit title remained at +1600.

“It’s been an up-and-down year for sure, I think,” Caruth told NASCAR.com. “There have been a lot of solid times, but there have also been times where there are things that are left to be desired. I think what I’ve learned from the grind of the year so far is that truck racing isn’t as jam-packed as the Xfinity Series or the Cup Series, so I have just been trying to use my time wisely.

“I’ve been fortunate to have a lot of fun and cool things off of the race track, but at the same time, just using my time wisely and being present at the race shop and with my team and kind of learning what it takes to be a contending driver on and off of the race track.”
