Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson Calls Out NFL Gamblers Who Complain About Stats For Bets

Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson fired back at NFL fans complaining about his individual production, explaining that he’s more focused on winning instead of meeting certain statistical thresholds for gamblers and their prop bets. Jackson reiterated his message in a Monday post on X:

Jackson, 27, recorded a season-low 156 pass yards against the Buffalo Bills on Sunday Night Football, but the Ravens were still able to coast to a 35-10 win and improve to 2-2. The Louisville product also posted a 135.4 passer-rating, finished 13 of 18 passing, and completed 72.22% of his passes.

The over/under for passing yards for Jackson was around 200 yards, which means anyone who bet on the over would have lost money. It was the second straight week in which the two-time MVP fell short of 200 passing yards.

However, he’s thrown for 858 yards and five touchdowns compared to just one interception on the season.

A number of gamblers place parlays that involve player props. A parlay is when a gambler bets on several things to happen. The bettor can only win the bet if they’re correct with all of them. Bettors usually risk less money and have the potential to win a greater amount with a parlay. Though, parlays are more difficult to hit.

Jackson has made it clear at this point that he cares more about wins than quarterback stats. He remains one of the best dual-threat quarterbacks in the NFL. He’s also averaging 77 rush yards per game, which would be the second-highest mark of his career over the course of a full season.

Baltimore has been able to bounce back from its first 0-2 start since 2015, now sitting just one game back from the Pittsburgh Steelers for the No. 1 spot in the AFC North.

Jackson’s lack of passing yards is a byproduct of the Ravens relying more heavily on their run game. Four-time Pro Bowl running back Derrick Henry signed a two-year contract worth $16 million with Baltimore in free agency. The 2020 NFL Offensive Player of the Year has been unstoppable through the first four weeks of the season.

The Ravens are aiming to qualify for the playoffs for their third consecutive season.
