Houston Texans Depth Chart: Who Will Start At RB And WR?
The Houston Texans offense has suffered major injuries at its skill positions, including running back and wide receiver. View the Texans’ depth chart below.
RBs Joe Mixon And Dameon Pierce Injured
Neither Texans RB, Joe Mixon nor Dameon Pierce, practiced today, putting Cam Akers in line to start again Sunday vs. the Jaguars.
Texans WR Tank Dell also did not practice for a second straight day.

The Texans (2-1) backfield is struggling to stay healthy.
Running backs Joe Mixon and Dameon Pierce are injured and missed Thursday’s practice.
Mixon tweaked his ankle in the team’s Week 2 win over the Chicago Bears and sat out Week 3’s loss to the Minnesota Vikings. Mixon had a monster Week 1 performance, garnering 30 carries for 159 yards and one touchdown in a win over the Indianapolis Colts.
Pierce played sparingly in Week 1 — three carries for 16 yards — and missed the last two games with a hamstring injury.
Mixon and Pierce are trending toward not playing in Week 4 against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
If Mixon and Pierce sit out, Cam Akers would start a running back for the second consecutive week. In Week 3, Akers rushed for 21 yards on nine carries and hauled in one catch for eight yards and a touchdown.
Tank Dell Injured, Nico Collins Limited In Practice
Showing up limited with a hamstring on Thursday is NOT good.

Similar to the backfield, Houston’s top receivers are battling injuries.
Tank Dell has missed practice all week because of bruised ribs. The second-year wideout appears unlikely to play in Week 4.
The surprise name on the injury report is Nico Collins, the Texans’ top receiver. Collins was limited in Thursday’s practice with a hamstring injury.
Collins is Houston’s clear No. 1 receiver, logging 18 catches for 338 yards and one touchdown in three games.
If Collins and Dell sit out Week 4, expect Stefon Diggs’s role to increase against the Jaguars.
