Professional athletes have different problems than the rest of us common folk — just ask Dale Earnhardt Jr. One of the NASCAR legend’s biggest complications in retirement is finding a place to store all of the trophies he won during his career. Earnhardt Jr. said last year that he doesn’t even know where some of his trophies are, and he wants to build a giant trophy case so he can keep them all in one place.

Not only is Dale Earnhardt Jr. one of the most beloved NASCAR drivers of all time. He’s also one of the most decorated. Over the course of his career racing in the Cup Series, Earnhardt Jr. won 26 races and recorded 260 top-10 finishes. He also won 24 trophies during his time in the XFINITY Series.

Earnhardt Jr. also has 15 other trophies from being named NASCAR’s Most Popular Driver 15 different times. Add them all up and Earnhardt Jr. has a ridiculous 65 trophies from his brilliant NASCAR career.

The only problem is finding a place for all of them.

During an episode of The Dale Jr. Download from last summer, Earnhardt Jr. answered some questions from fans about the Washington Football Team, his favorite cocktail, and more. One fan wondered where Earnhardt Jr. keeps all the trophies he accumulated during his NASCAR career, and he realized he doesn’t even know where some of them are.

“Honestly, I bet that there’s some missing pieces. I got trophies just laying in my basement,” Earnhardt Jr. said. “I need a shelf that holds them all — all 26 Cup trophies, all the most popular drivers, all the XFINITY trophies. And I would love to do that to be able to understand what I’m missing and find out where that stuff is. Like man, where is everything? It’s all over the place. I’ve got some trophies here, I’ve got trophies all over my property. Some are in the Hall of Fame. I don’t know if I have all of them. Goodness.

“Imagine if you were [Kevin] Harvick or any of those guys, or Denny [Hamlin], with 40 or 50 wins. What do you do with all of them? And I think [there is] the anxiety and concern of where they all might be or maybe one’s missing. I don’t know.”

It’s past time for Earnhardt Jr. to organize his trophy collection. During the same podcast episode, he stated his intention to build a giant trophy case similar to the one Kasey Kahne built for his collection. That would sure be something.

“Kasey Kahne took a picture in front of his trophy case, and he had built this giant trophy case,” Earnhardt Jr. said. “And I think Kyle Busch has one very similar. It’s just full of trophies. And I was like, ‘I want to do that!’ And you know why? It’s because I don’t know where they are. I don’t know where all my stuff’s at.”

Imagine being so successful that one of your biggest problems is finding a place to store all of your trophies. Don’t stress too much about it, Dale.
